Upgraded!

Finally! I’ve upgraded my lappie to Win 7! Yay!

Hmmmm....so how does that happen when I don’t have a credit card to place an order for the upgrade kit?  Well, fortunately I have a friend who has one =D

I must thank my dear friend Nithiya to help me place the order using her credit card!

Received the upgrade kit within 3 days of placing the order through DHL! 

Err...that was last month! And only now I got the time for upgrading my baby!

Actually, I did not upgrade it but did a fresh install which is way more hassle free compared to upgrading! I’m still playing around with it, so can’t tell much about the differences yet.

Big Bad Wolf Book Sale - November 2009

I was the few lucky ones get invited to the Big Bad Wolf Book sale preview (bless the soul which can't make it and give me the chance to attend it). This time around, the sale is being held at Amcorp Mall at level 3 opposite McD, from 10am till 9pm. The sale is on from 26^th Nov – 2^nd Dec.

I went there with my dad and manage to grab myself 30 plus books! Oh well, need to re-arrange my bookshelf, kind of messy with all the books mixed-up in the shelf.

I drop by the place again on Friday, gosh! It’s totally packed! People are queuing to just get into the premise. I feel so lucky to be able to go to their preview earlier! THANKS GUYS! APPRECIATE IT A LOT!

Credit Card...Dilemma!

It’s nothing to do with the current budget by our gahmen to impose RM50 per primary credit card. I don’t really care about it! Why? Because, I don’t own one. I purchased my laptop on Oct 3, 2009, loaded with Windows Vista Home Premium (it sucks big time, seriously driving me mad at times), so that’ll be entitled me for free upgrade Windows 7. To get the free upgrade I need to pay a small handling fee to Microsoft. When, I tried to order the upgrade kit through the HP (Btw, mine is HP DV6 lappie =D) website, there is only one payment option provided to be able to place the order, which is by Credit Card!

Now, HP has a free upgrade promotion for those purchasing their notebooks & desktops from Oct 12, 2009 till Dec, 2009. When I called their support staff they told I might me be eligible for this promotion but on the second thought they asked to place the order through their website & borrow the credit card from my parents to make the payment! The problem is none of my family members own 1! (Yeah, we are a bunch of people who thinks CREDIT CARDS are big culprits in producing spendthrifts!) Anyway, to cut long the story short, at the end of the conversation I found no solution to my problem.

I’ve emailed HP regarding other payment options, just received an apology email today that it’ll take them another 10 days to get back to me regarding my enquiry (Ouch!).

So till then guess I have to keep up with Vista!

Book Set...

I’ve a complete set of Judith McNaught’s regency novels, YIPEEE!

Well, I wish I could rejoice but actually I still need one more book, A Holiday of Love by Judith McNaught, Jude Deveraux, and Jill Barnett. Then I’ll have complete set of Westmoreland saga. Cos, Nicholas Duville is one of the main characters in Whitney, My Love and Until You.

I’m yet to read Whitney, My Love which is one of my latest purchases. Never the less you can get all the hints that Nicholas Duville is one of the main characters in Whitney, My Love from Until You.

Secretly, I do have a crush on Nicholas Duville. (Now, that’s not a secret anymore) So, I have to get the book to know his story.

Cecelia Ahern’s new book titled The Book of Tomorrow is available in the local bookstores. Its tad too expensive for me (RM 69.90 - RM 79.90). Guess will wait for the paperback version of it.

Like Judith Mcnaught, I have almost complete set of Cecelia Ahern novels. I’ve leave out P.S.I Love You purposely from my collection as it is tooooo sad, as I have watched the movie version of it.

Too Ambitious.....

I thought of reading 3 books at a same time. Looks like I can't multitask when it comes to books!..Sigh! Anyway, decided to stick with Mr.Norell & Jonathan Strange by Sussana Clarke first. I was thinking twice when picking up this book during the Big Bad Wolf Book Sales, somehow best-sellers and I don't gel together. Plus the number of pages also scares me a bit, but the price overcomes everything. Seriously, RM8.00 for this, is a real bargain which I can't refuse =D. I was totally absorbed till at times I  forgot it has passed my bedtime =D.

To say the least, I'm enjoying the book!

New Look

Settled for this template after trying out a handful! I feel more welcoming to my blog with this one. Very happy with the new look & the best thing is its simple.

Change.....

I feel that my blog needs a make over. So, I've browsed the net & found some nice templates. For next few days, (well, I hope it'll take me only few days & not few weeks, keeping my fingers cross) it'll be experiment time with my blog as I read some of the templates need modifications here & there.

Yep! finally manage to visit my blog.

Been almost 2 months since I last posted.
Past 2 months been very busy with shifting to new office premise

and informing all our customers regarding the change of address.
PHEEW!!! Glad thats over.
In between I manage to add few titles to my collection of books too =D.
Some I bought, some my sis got it for me!!!
